
Nolan is a senior from Dana Point, California majoring in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). He is a member of the Honors College, a Mount Fellow, and president of the Mount Swing Dance Club. He joined The Brownson Record to be a part of a publication that was authentically Catholic, dedicated to pursuing the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. These tenets, held dear by our namesake, Orestes Brownson, are the core of what makes this publication so unique, vibrant, and necessary in the modern age. He will be spending the Fall 2025 semester abroad in beautiful Florence, Italy, so while you won’t be able to catch him in person, you can reach him at n.s.williams@email.msmary.edu.

Dominic is a senior majoring in Communication and minoring in History, Spanish, and Theology. He was initially brought on as Social Media Director by The Brownson Record’s first Managing Editor, Gavin Hamrick, and is honored to now call Gavin’s old post his. The Brownson Record aims to reflect on what is True, Good, and Beautiful, and Dominic wishes to display the Truth, Goodness, and Beauty of the Mount! Pax Christi Vobiscum!

Joseph is a member of the class of 2027, and is majoring in Spanish and Theology. He recalls falling in love with the idea of an authentic Catholic journal on campus when The Brownson Record was first introduced to him by Nolan in spring of 2025. He is pleased to work with so many amazing people on its various issues, and he hopes that you enjoy reading through everyone’s hard work!

Adrienne is a part of the class of 2027 majoring in Communication. As The Brownson Record’s Director of Art, her job is to design the magazine and make it beautiful! She is inspired by The Brownson Record’s mission of promoting Catholic views in the modern world and seeks to visually showcase that mission on the pages of each Brownson Record issue.

Audrey Russell C'26
Director of Social Media
Audrey is from a senior from Baltimore, Maryland studying Communication with a minor in Music. When looking for opportunities to write on campus, she was immediately drawn to The Brownson Record’s professional and faithful take on journalism and storytelling. While she started as a member of the editorial staff, she is happy to now share The Brownson Record and its mission with the community through her work on the website and social media.

Joseph is a Mount St. Mary’s student in the Class of 2028, pursuing majors in Philosophy and Theology. A member of The Brownson Record’s editorial staff, he has a strong conviction towards promoting and advancing the Catholic intellectual tradition.

Leah Kanik C'27
Leah is a junior at the Mount with a double major in Theology and History. She is a part of the Editorial Board of The Brownson Record with roles in editing, pursuing articles, and shipping out the printed editions. She finds The Brownson Record‘s mission to pursue Truth, Goodness, and Beauty inspiring and is honored to be able to help spread this Catholic vision.

Shannon is from Southern Maryland, and is currently studying Philosophy and Psychology at the Mount, with a minor in History and Art. She is excited to join the editorial staff of The Brownson Record, as she believes it will not only strengthen her experience in editing but also further her ministry within the Mount’s Catholic community. She has been involved in several Catholic outreach programs, including the Archdiocese of Washington Leadership Team, LifeTeen Youth Leadership, and serving as a retreat leader for Mount Campus Ministry. Beyond ministry, reading and writing have been lifelong passions of her, making editing a meaningful and enjoyable pursuit. She also loves creating art and hopes to incorporate some of it into The Brownson Record. Overall, she thrilled to bring together her love for writing, faith, and creativity in this role.

Andrew Starvaggi is a member of the Honors College majoring in Biochemistry and Chemistry, with minors in Philosophy and Mathematics. He works as a Structural Biochemistry Researcher, volunteers as a Firefighter and EMT for Frederick County Fire and Rescue, and actively participates in Campus Ministry leadership roles. Andrew joined The Brownson Record to discover Truth, Goodness, and Beauty through the lens of sapiential Catholic journalism. He hopes to further explore the interplay between the Catholic Faith and the natural sciences as fundamental ways of revealing truth. He is excited to join the Record in pursuit of upholding traditional Catholic principles of the human person, morality, and intellectualism in the ever-growing secular, modern era. Spes Nostra!
